Food

Bitterballen, stroopwafels, tompoucen, kibbeling, olliebollen, poffertjes, ontbijtkoek, stamppot, I know enough Dutch foods, however, what about Australian food? Why don’t I know any of them? Probably because I am not Australian. So, I consulted my pen pal. He told me that for breakfast they usually eat Weet-Bix. My pen pal gave me a description “[it] is a wheat rectangle that is eaten with yogurt and/or milk or have a cup of Milo”. Milo is a powder that is mixed with water or milk to produce “a beverage popular in many parts of the world” says Wikipedia.

Other popular foods are Tim-Tams, vegemite and Anzac biscuits. Anzac biscuits have a little bit of a story behind them. The BBC says that the biscuits were originally made for the Anzacs, the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, that served in Gallipoli. Gallipoli is located in the European part of Turkey, according to Wikipedia.
