Festivities
Australia is the country of festivals. Every month you see various festivals throughout the country. From Tulip Festivals in October to Midsumma Festival in January. You have them in all shapes and sizes and in every month of the year. They also celebrate days like St Patrick’s day on the 17 March. St Patrick’s Day is, as Wikipedia says, “a cultural and religious celebration on the death date of the foremost patron saint of Ireland”.

Do you remember the Aznac biscuits from the article about food? Turns out, Australia also has a special Aznac Day! According to AWM (Australian War Memorial) Aznac day is one of the most important national occasions of Australia. “It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War”. This day is celebrated on April 25th. The last day I would like to pay attention to is Sorry Day. Sorry Day takes place on 26 May. On this day Australians remember how the indigenous people of Australia were mistreated. However, my father heard that it is not the best known. Pretty interesting days, if you ask me, but of course it’s nothing like a good Dutch Kingsday.
